The Little Fork Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company (LFVFRC) in Rixeyville, Virginia was founded in 1994. Currently, LFVFRC responds to approximately 500 fire fighting and emergency rescue calls per year. LFVFRC has been recognized for 3 consecutive years as one of the few Virginia volunteer fire departments to respond to 100% of its emergency calls. This feat would not be possible without the dedication of LFVFRC’s volunteer fire fighters and emergency medical technicians (EMTs).

In this video, LFVFRC Fire Chief Doug Monaco describes the need for a larger and better equipped fire station that will provide adequate housing, sleeping and kitchen facilities for its dedicated team of volunteer fire fighters, emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and large animal rescue technicians. One of LFVFRC’s notes that local prisoners are provided with better housing, sleeping and kitchen facilities than LFVFRC volunteers.

The new building will provide the housing, sleeping and kitchen facilities that will allow LFVFRC volunteers to stay at the station 24/7, 7 days a week, and improve emergency response times. The new building will allow LFVFRC to better serve residents of Culpeper County Virginia and surrounding jurisdictions.

LFVFRC is appealing to residents of Culpeper County Virginia and surrounding communities to contribute to the Building Fund.
