Rockhill Volunteer Fire Department is seeking highly motivated, energetic, and dedicated community members to join our team. The Applicaton Process is detailed below.

 You must meet the following requirements:

• Be 18 years of age (16 years of age for junior firefighters)

• Either enrolled in High School or a High School Graduate (GED is acceptable)

• Able to read and write the english language

• If over 18, possess a drivers license which is valid in Virginia and an excellent driving record 

• Be in general good health (Operational Members Only)

Step 2

Stafford County Volunteer Application

By clicking on the above link, you will be directed to Stafford County's Volunteer application system. To apply for membership with the Rockhill Volunteer Fire Department, answer "Company 8" when asked which fire station you would like to volunteer at. For those that want to be active firefighters or EMTs, answer "Active" when asked which kind of member you would like to be.  If you would like to be an administrative or auxiliary member, then mark "Auxiliary." 

Within 2 weeks of completing your application, the administrative staff at Stafford County Fire and Rescue will contact you to complete the remainder of the application process.  This includes completing insurance forms, a driving record request (bring a copy of your driving record if you are from out of state), medical & immunization history, background investigation request, fingerprints and providing any prior firefighting or EMS certifications.  SCFR hosts an orientation on the 1st Monday of every month, 1900 at the Public Safety Center, to complete this paperwork.  Other opportunities to complete these items are available by making an appointment with the SCFR staff by calling (540) 658-7200.

Once your application has been completed with the SCFR staff, it will then be forwarded to our membership committee who will review it and contact you with additional information.
