April 8th @ 1923 Tech. Rescue/Tree into a house.
14 Crestview Dr.
Eng. 8 responded understaffed to the address with Driver Larry Wemyss, OIC Chief Pinkston, EMT A. Pinkston. Asst. Chief 8 met Engine
Eng 8 on scene. arrived on scene to find a tree had fallen through the C side of the residence. The tree almost completely dissected the top floor of the split foyer residence. Luckily the occupants 2 adults and 2 young teenage girls, were eating dinner in the basement area of the home. There were no injuries. The crew from E8 assessed the situation and secured power at the inside panel. No further hazards were found and no one else was allowed to enter the residence. A Stafford bldg. inspector was special requested to investigate the extent of the damage. Stafford Animal Control was also contacted to temporarily remove and care for a family dog located inside the residence. T533 from Quantico was requested to come to the scene to cover up the roof to protect the exposed inside belongings. T533 arrived and decided the roof was in fact too unstable to attempt to cover the hole. The county inspector arrived on the scene and after a outside and inside inspection declared the home "uninhabitable". NOVEC was special requested to pull the meter and completely kill power to the home due to extensive damage to electrical wiring in the home. The adult occupants were allowed to re-enter the home and retrieve some needed clothing and medications. E8 secured from the scene after the home was secured.
During this call Co. 8 was dispatched for an auto accident, and several trees reported down. A storm front had swept through the area and caused several trees to fall into power lines. Also during this incident several other members returned to the FH and staffed E8B. Chief Pinkston
